Did hardware requirements change?

Post by seeker010 » Thu Aug 08, 2019 5:39 pm

I'm still running on a 290x w/ FX8310, and the new version of the app in Windows is so slow as to be unusable. Clicks take forever to register, and scrolling up and down the guide requires zen patience. I get the CPU is old, but didn't expect decoding H264 or MPEG2 even with DRM at 1080p would require so much resources.

We are working on updates to the UI to improve responsiveness. I wouldn't expect an FX8310 to have issues though, it ought to be more than fast enough even if you disabled 6 of its cores. Any chance you have a spare non-AMD video card you could test real quick? I'm wondering if there's something about that generation of AMD GPUs that has issues with the way the web components in Windows 10 render the UI, since that GPU is similar to the one that's in the Xbox One, which has similar issues.
