Ok, the hamburger doesn't exist on all hardware, so the obvious question is why bother for windows? Still seems better to have all version info in one place in whatever form it needs to be. If it needs to be in the "gear" icon, so be it.nateb wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 4:54 pmThe "hamburger" doesn't exist on any platform other than Windows (and maybe Mac?). So we can't really put that in the same place.
Beyond that, honestly, we only started putting a version number on the UI out of need. Without it, it was hard for testers to be sure they were testing all on the same version of the UI because of annoying cache problems. If we ever manage to fully do away with cache issues, we may also drop the UI version number. For customers, the only thing they should really worry about is what's been changed on a day to day basis, and whether they are on Early Access or not.
The only reason this "customer" is on "early access" is because I'm looking for an improvement on the lag time involved when clicking on the screen to pull up the ability to change channels and read the, now lost, show descriptions. Watching/counting the seconds for that ability after clicking the mouse button is maddening! The time lag problem should be a high priority to get the UI back to what it used to be.
