Have you disabled AC3 passthrough in the settings screen?

In as much as Dolby Digital Plus is the selected option and not Dolby Digital <----- that's within the fire menu. Within the hdhomerun settings it is "off"

Please enable the sending of diagnostic data on the HDHomeRun, run a channel scan, enable the sending of data in the app (https://info.hdhomerun.com/info/trouble ... iagnostics) then watch live TV on a problem channel for at least 10 minutes. Reply back with the device ID for your HDHomeRun and we will check the logs.

For the fire cube it is 132299F0 Prime

The logs indicate that AC3 passthrough is still enabled in the HDHomeRun app.

Please check the cube again. The opposite setting in the settings menu is “Use AC3 passthrough when possible” set to “ON”.

As of 15 minutes ago, passthrough is still enabled on the Cube, and as of last night, it was still enabled on the gen 2 Fire TV box.

I can't remember how fire devices label the option for settings (got rid of most when it didn't look like there would be the possibility of DRM playback) but could the poster be mistaking the Device's settings for the App's settings? I do remember long ago one issue on the fire devices (and I believe the old nexus player) was that one needed to set to always on or always off for the device's settings (not when possible). But I believe what jasonl is asking for is the app's settings.

These are in app changes. I have the ability to control it from multiple devices, but the fact that in app is set to the opposite setting to the prior reading makes me think that it’s not actually affecting a change. Stream wise, the feed comes in to the cube to a/v then tv. Maybe something in that chain could be more effective?

Are you going to the "real" settings menu (play/pause 13 times) or the gear as I think the change on the gear required a restart that it may or may not do on its own?

No, that is the "real" way to get to settings on the android/fire app. I mention that as the new ui may have occasional issues as they push things out.

At least it isn't a shield that's 26 times as one needs to double tap for play/pause.
