I have the same issue on a Samsung Galaxy S9 phone with Android 9. My Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 tablet with Android 8 still works fine. This issue started when I updated my server to the 20190621 release.

Same problem here.
Just bought a Huawei P30 lite about 9 days ago. Installed HDHomerun and ran without problem. Two days ago, install the Norton Security on the phone. Today, tried to run HDHomerun app and got the same message as others .....discovery.json failed......The app has been updated to 06212019 version. The Android version is 9.01

Took the old phone ZTE ZmaxII. Updated the HDHomerun to 06212019 version. The app ran without problem. Note that Norton Security has been removed from this phone to have the same license used on the new phone. The Android version on this old phone is 6.01.

I mentioned Norton Security in case it is the culprit to block the discovery. I did not uninstall Norton in the new phone to test.

In connection with the post above. I have not updated the firmware for the HDHomerun Prime (old model with the cable card). The firmware is 20180921.

There is an issue with the current beta version of the HDHomeRun app where it has trouble communicating with HDHomeRun devices when running on an Android 9 device. If you go back to the previous version of the HDHomeRun app following the instructions at https://play.google.com/apps/testing/co ... ndust.view you should then be able to access normally. Our development team is investigating the issue.

Topics merged.

A new version 20190625 that resolves the issue with Android 9 devices is now available in the Google Play store.

I can confirm that the main issue has been solved on my Note 8. However, I still have the second issue I posted about in the first post of this thread:

It appears you're using the new UI there. Is it also an issue in the old UI? If not, that issue should be reported in the New UI forum.

I've installed the update on my Shield, my Note 8 and my Galaxy Tab S 10.5 now. On all devices, the version shown in Settings is still 20190620b (beta). Should this now indicate version 20190625? Or is 20190620b (beta) just the version of the new UI?

You are correct. The screenshot was while using the new UI. The old UI does not exhibit this issue. I'll report it in the new UI forum. Thanks.

One other thing I should mention that may be related to whatever change you just made with 20190625: with this new version loaded on my Galaxy Tab S 10.5 tablet (running Android 6), the video is very jerky. Audio is OK, though.

ETA: The above video issue only happens with the new UI. Also on the tablet running the new UI, while watching live TV, it takes multiple screen touches to get the slice to come out to change channels. This is not an issue with the old UI.
