Samsung TV 2012 app connectivity dropping repeatedly

I have been seeing since the last update I believe the picture dropping out and going to the connection warning screen on this app every 5-30 seconds. I have two primes and three Samsung TVs that use this app and all three TVs have been seeing this issue on both primes. Is anyone else seeing this?

There isn't an APP on Samsung for HDHomerun……. but I did hear there was one earlier model that used to have it until Samsung pulled it... maybe that's what your referring to? and if so it must be a really old APP that never gets an update

There has never been an HDHR app for Samsung. Some Samsung TVs used to be able to access live TV and DRV using the RUI (remote user interface) that Samsung added to their TVs for use with DirectTV. And one point 1-1/2 to 2 years ago Samsung forced an updated that removed RUI.

Most of the Samsung SmartTVs are able to access the DLNA stream from the HDHR tuners. This is not something created by HDHR, but Samsung. I suppose it’s possible that a Firmware update to your HDHR could have caused problems with an old DLNA app.

I have an old (maybe 8 yr) Samsung and I have loaded HD App from the Samsung Smart Hub. Granted it hasn't been updated so I doubt it still works.

Samsung E series (2012) had an app... this was "prior" to VIEW(2014) and was the original reason for "my.hdhomerun.com/discover" (may have used a different address) as that app required it for discovery. It has "never" been updated and in the many years since does frequently fail. Also any tv i have put that app on subsequently fails to use dlna directly with the tuners as a source. This also marked one of the first times SD got burned by Samsung for not "allowing" it in subsequent series. It does require a wired connection (was that the warning being mentioned?)

If you have SD's DVR, it may be worth a try to turn it off for a day and see if things clear up as I remember some of my earlier programs that used such discovery had issue when SD updated web discovery to include engines so such wouldn't surprise me.

I don't think we even have any of those Samsung TVs left anymore. For what it's worth, we had an updated version completed and submitted to Samsung and they refused to approve it. No idea how the original got approved but not the update, as the only changes were fixing some bugs (mostly making it work with the then-new CONNECT model and whatever the new Samsung model year was) and otherwise the app was exactly the same. Because Samsung wouldn't approve it, the app was never released publicly, and we were forced to abandon the entire project.
