I'm seeing the same issue as others where I enabled early access to the new UI and now I'm seeing a black screen.
Closed app from UI with no change, rebooted player with no change, tried play/pause 13 times and it doesn't bring up the settings dialog.
Uninstalled the app and reinstalled and that seems to allow the app to start again, but of course the new UI is no longer enabled. New version number is 20190521
