Windows 10 app crash with DRM channels

Post by wtg » Thu Apr 18, 2019 2:51 pm

Just tried the new Windows 10 app today for the first time. With beta enabled or not, the app crashes when I try to tune a DRM channel. Upon restart it tries to tune the last channel so it repeatedly crashes at that point. If my timing is just right, I can get the app to tune another channel before it tries to tune the last one and avoid the crash, but it's not easy because input is only accepted in a small window.

I am NOT using the DVR. Device ID 131A6C2B. Diagnostics enabled. If there's anything else you need, please let me know.

DRM channels are working fine on my Shield.

Here's an example of the fault in Event Viewer:

Code: Select all

Faulting application name: HDHomeRunView.exe, version: 1.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5c5a261a
Faulting module name: HDHomeRunView.MediaStream.dll, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5c5a2267
Exception code: 0xc0000094
Fault offset: 0x0000000000053997
Faulting process id: 0x49b8
Faulting application start time: 0x01d4f62e12bb4e20
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\EF712BA7.HDHomeRunDVR_1.1.272.0_x64__23nna27hyxhag\HDHomeRunView.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\EF712BA7.HDHomeRunDVR_1.1.272.0_x64__23nna27hyxhag\HDHomeRunView.MediaStream.dll
Report Id: 6f9a6419-3e7c-43df-8628-a13d40d949f0
Faulting package full name: EF712BA7.HDHomeRunDVR_1.1.272.0_x64__23nna27hyxhag
Faulting package-relative application ID: App
BTW, noticed the beta doesn't tune with Enter after typing in a channel number. Outside of beta I can type a channel and pressing Enter tunes it.

Possible something went wrong with the initial DTCP authorization.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app so it wipes the local config and is forced to repeat the authorization procedure.

Instead of an uninstall, I tried the "Reset" option I found in the "Advanced Options" choice in the "Apps & Features" control panel. That solved the problem.
