I am also having issues with the audio lag. Now it’s gotten worse and every couple minutes it locks up and I have to restart my shield to get it to work again. When it freezes I have tried double tapping the home buttons so I can shut down the app and when I try to open it again it says it can’t find the device.

Something similar happened to me last night with the local news. The voice was seconds before and it got so bad that once, it forced HDHR to stop and went to the home screen.

I was having this issue at times even before this recent update. I assumed it would have been addressed which is why I didn’t say anything. I just went back to the August 2018 version again and to running fine on that. Will try it again after the next update to see if it works.

Again, I am have the same sync issues with MiBox 3 USA. Went back to Aug 2018 version on my shield.

Nickk, while showing live TV in the HDHR app, video continues to lock up semi-regularly on my Shield while the audio continues to play. However, when video and audio are both playing, audio continues to be out-of-sync with the video consistently. Are you able to replicate this phenomenon yet, and is there a fix in the works?

Hmmm. Interesting. I just tried something on my Shield that seems to have cleared up the audio out-of-sync issue. I went into the Shield's Settings menu and followed this path: Display & Sound --> Advanced Settings --> Audio video sync, then simply selected Apply. I did not change the setting on that screen. I just selected Apply to get out of that screen. I then went back to the HDHR app and the audio/video sync has been perfect for the last half hour. I should note here that my Shield is connected to a Samsung 28" TV only. I have no DAC or A/V receiver attached. I only mention this because the Audio video sync menu selection states "If you are using a DAC or Receiver, please use this option to syncronize AV streams".

To the best of my recollection, I have never gone to and changed that Audio video sync setting before. I suspect that it became mis-adjusted when installing one of the recent nVidia Experience updates. That's just a guess, though.

Update: Spoke too soon. After about an hour, it's back to being out-of-sync, as bad as it has ever been.

Also having Sync issues on the Shield … really bad. No sync issues when using unofficial KODI HDHomeRun APP.

As others have stated, opt out of the beta, uninstall and reinstall and you will be on the 8-2018 stable release. I like to continue to beta test once the audio sync is fixed.

I really do not use the HDHomeRun APP … just betatest when new betas come out and report issues... but like you stated above anyone having issues and uses the HDHomeRun APP exclusively should opt out.

If the record engine is running on the Shield the recordings will be deleted. If the record engine is running on your NAS and the Shield is just a client you can uninstall the app and you won't lose your recordings.
