I'm having this problem as well on a pr4100. I did a manual install of the latest package (20181107) and although there are no errors the DVR service can't be found. I then did the hdhomerun setup with the manual NAS install. Even though I get "SUCCESS" the dvr is still not found. One person suggested rolling back the pr4100 firmware, but I couldn't find a source for that. I've rebooted and done full shutdowns multiple times but no matter what the DVR service isn't being found. The annoying thing is I actually did this same package update on my personal pr4100 without any incident, but this particular unit belongs to my parents (I'm the son that gets to do all their electronics maintenance over Christmas). I really don't know what else to try at this point unless someone can point me to the previous firmware.

I have a pr4100 and have no problem … PR4100 firmware = 2.31.149 , HDHomeRun APP=20181107

My HDhomerun config in HDHomeRun shared folder.

RecordPath=/shares/Public/HDHomeRun/
Port=50000

StorageID=random number

I know it CAN work because like I said my own personal pr4100 did this reinstall after the firmware update without a hitch. And I have the same hdhomerun.conf file as you from doing manual package install on the pr4100. When I blow away the package version, reboot, and instead use the Hdhomerun Setup software to manually install on the NAS (where you have to create a HDHomerun share and enable SSH) I get a slightly different hdhdomerun.conf
-----
RecordPath=/mnt/HD/HD_d2/HDHomeRun/
StorageID=different random number
---

So no port=5000. But the end result is the same. The log file shows everything is fine except for the recording engine

I even dug up my original confirmation email from a year ago and reran the activation. It said "success" when I give it my activation code (a little surprised it didn't say "already activated"). I triple-checked the deviceID to make sure it somehow didn't change after the HDHomerun firmware upgrade. And I briefly thought that maybe my license had expired but 1) it's set to auto-renew 2) I still have over a week left on my original one-year license.
I'm truly frustrated at this point as I've done pretty much everything I can short of rolling back the firmware on the pr4100 and I know that shouldn't be necessary from my own experience with this same setup I have at home. It's like my parents' machine is uniquely cursed or something.

The authorization error is probably causing the trouble. You might want to open a trouble ticket.

You wouldn't by chance be using the same email address for "both" accounts? A device can only be associated to one account and an account can only have one email address and is "identified" by such. This has caused some issues if all devices that are supposed to be on the account are not detected when activated. It also causes issues if one also subscribes to PTV (most likely not in this case since only a prime was detected) using a different email address. Also if your account has subscribed to PTV the old activation "key" is not supposed to be used as keys have been replaced with the new system.

I know about the issue with have the same email for both accounts. I ran into that last year during the initial setup. They do have different emails and technically nothing would have changed in the configuration file (at least during the original update before I went down the uninstall, reboot, manual package install, uninstall, reboot, manual NAS configuration rabbit hole). And when I re-ran the activation and gave it the code it was the correct email/device id/activation code and the registration app doesn't give any errors.
