dvr stopped working on nas after firmware update

Hello dvr is not showing up after update of firmware on mycloudPR2100 . Dvr It not showing on my HDhomerun page , it shows for purchase. Has the clock started on the dvr service ? does it need to renewed ?

Typically on the WD's you will need to reinstall/restart after firmware updates but on the multibay models it can depend on what was updated.

As far as the clock starting, that depends on when you bought and possibly location. For some (those that paid $35) the year started at purchase. For others it should not have started yet but last time they stated their plans for such, there were plans that those that did not need drm recording would be started earlier but I don't think that happened.

Everyone gets that purchase page regardless of subscribed or not.

I tried uninstalling app, reboot nas and reinstall app and no luck still not showing dvr. I just got this nas today , I switch from recording on pc . The nas was working fine with the dvr until I updated it. The update sure changed something..

Your DVR was running up until about 30 minutes before you posted, but has not been since then. Do you have a 20181107 log file in your recording directory? It should have been created about 20 minutes ago.

the only file in the HDHomeRun folder is hdhome.conf, I don't see anything else

I did a factory reset of the nas , and i tried to do a manual install and it fails at the end. this is what I get on the left side of the install. running firmware 2.31.149

I have never seen a "manual" install display those messages... that is a "normal" nas install from windows.

I would double check permissions of the folders. because they stated "Improved the security of volume mount options.", I would double check fstab. Unfortunately I am not at a location with a "pro" and it will probably be at least 2 weeks before I will be.

yes ,It will install if I use the app. installed from the app but the dvr is not working. It was working before I updated the firmware to 2.31.149 .



update : I rolled back the firmware to 2.30.196 and it now works again.
It's something with the new firmware .
do you have a my cloud PR2100 to test on to see if this can be reproduced ?

We have a PR4100 but it is reporting 2.30.196 as being the latest...

My PR4100 is still on 2.30.196 Glad I do not have Firmware to auto update.

It looks like WDC changed a mount option which broke things.

We have updated the record engine so it works with this change... pushing to try to get a release out later today.

The new record engine packages for MyCloud have been released.

From Windows run HDHomeRun Setup, then run NAS Install from the DVR tab.
This will automatically download the latest package for your MyCloud.
