No one else has had issues with the stream stopping after an hour or 2? Mine still does even after the Amazon update and I have to reboot the stick to be able to play any channels. My Fire TV 2nd Gen plays it fine without any issues.
I don't I use it exclusively unless I am watching DRM it works great … I am using the ethernet adapter. I am watching football on it now.

Interesting I have 3 of them and they all have issues whether using the HDHR app or through Emby. I was just watching the football game on CBS and it stopped playing through Emby.

Are you wireless ? I have unplugged the ethernet and am using wireless getting 96 Mbps .. will keep it on wireless to see if there is a problem.

Yeah wireless. Signal strength is plenty good. I had my Fire TV 2nd Gen stream NBC 1080i for over 48 hours with the HDHR app without issue. The sticks never last more than a few hours using the HDHR app.

Two things I had to change in settings was set it to my Native resolution (2160 60FPS) and not use Auto … Also the audio I had to set to 5.1 and not use Best available … If left on auto was getting out of sync.

I fixed any audio out of sync issues with the HDHR app by disabling AC3 passthrough. You have to press the play/pause button 13 times to get the menu to pop up in the app.

So far so good in the HDHomerunApp watching football not even 1 glitch. Wireless on Firestick and wireless on Fire HD10 Tablet.

Yep it closed on me when using HDHomeRun and wireless … it just went poof but the Fire TV HD10 tablet is still going.... 2 hour window just like you said.

I am going to switch over to Channels see if it happens with it.

I wrote a review about the Wireless sucking as the Fire Tablet on the same network is still going … Even channels DVR froze using wireless.

Amazon is blaming the app.

Our technical team has confirmed that the issue is with the app itself. In this case, I kindly request you to contact the developer of the app.

HDHomeRun
Channels DVR
EMBY

I guess Amazon blames them all. They all work fine when wired. FireTV Tab HD10 still going strong using HDHomeRun app. I am going to try 2.4 wireless.

I too have issues streaming my local live TV channels to the Firestick 4k. No matter which channel I choose, within an hour or so the screen goes back to the channel menu and I get a communication error. If I try to choose the same or another channel the screen goes black and the only way to connect again is to reboot the Firestick.

Someone said Amazon is blaming the app, I don't believe this is the case because I've never had an issue with my original Firestick, it still plays live TV from my HDHomerun flawlessly.

Yeah I tired to explain it is only the Stick 4K and the just kept telling me their internal team determined it was an app issue and to talk to SD. This issue is very annoying and I don't seem to be getting anywhere with it. I just tried using 2.4Ghz wifi and it lasted about 12 minutes before stopping so that doesn't help. I have had a ticket opened with SD but that haven't responded since 12/11. I have diagnostic logging enable so hopefully they can find something.

Leave a bad review for your Firestick 4k. When I did that Amazon called me the next day asking lots of questions about the issue I was having. The lady I spoke with said they were working on a fix but this was over a week ago and it's still crashing after the last update. Maybe if enough people leave bad reviews on their precious Firesticks they'll take it more seriously.
