I'll try that..thanx for the heads up..
If that does not work I just fixed someone that was having the same problem as you … I had them uninstall EMBY re-install it and only check in playback settings "Enable Refresh Rate Switching" on the firestick settings make sure Video Resolution is set to Auto and "Match Original Framerate" is on …. The reason why I had them uninstall because of testing with EMBY on the firestick the settings get messed up best to start from scratch.
Sorry, NY, I've looked everywhere for the "Enable Refresh Rate Switching" setting; it's not
on my install of Emby..must be a Kodi setting; the other setting you mention I already have set on
the 4K Fire TV

Look under Payback Settings on EMBY Firestick Client scroll down a bit.

De-Interlace … Match Framerate etc.. is all done on the Client.

I think maybe we are not connecting I am talking about EMBY running in the firestick go into EMBY settings and Check Interlace HD and FrameRate in playback settings. My OS is same as yours.

Where do we stand on this now? Has there been any news at all?

SD Channels still has the green screen in HDHR App.... Every other app is working great... I personally stopped using HDHR app on it.

So are we giving up on getting HDHR to work with this device? If so how does one go about enjoying my tuner and PVR service without it?

I hope the answer isn't to use Kodi because I don't like Kodi.

As mentioned, early solution is to go to software decoding. We're working on an update.

I bought 2 Fire Stick 4K's on Black Friday and used them over the weekend. One, forget about trying to get it to work wirelessly with the HD Homerun App, it will work and then time out. With the ethernet adaptors they will stay connected. Fortunately, when watching Redzone or football games they worked. Except for commercials. When most commercials started playing the green screen flicker problem occurred. When back to live action, it went away. After a few hours of this however, the app would lock up and not work, requiring a power cycle of the Fire Stick to work again.
I hope this issue can be resolved (along with DRM) since I will be satisfied with this solution. I am one of the kickstarter contributors so I have been waiting patiently for a while.

Channels DVR fixed this by giving you the option to use Hardware or software decoding … Software decoding works great and does not task the FireStick.

Will someone please post a solution to this Firestick 4k issue, I see people mentioning to go to software decoding, Emby, channels 2.1... Please explain what needs to be done untill Amazon corrects the issue. I don't see any way of changing to software decoding... What is Channels 2.1? Do I need to set up a server to use Emby etc?.....

Easiest solution is to return/trash/not use the sticks and get something else.

If you wish to use SD's software you will have to wait until either Amazon fixes their decoding or SD switches to (allow) software decoding.

Other software may already allow software decoding, i.e. Channels (getchannels.com), emby (emby.media), etc. some of which may be having some cyber monday sales right now.

Waiting on SD to allow either Hardware/Software solution might take another couple of years see track record. My solution was to not use the HDHomeRun software. The software decoder on the FireTV 4K is very good and can handle 1080I 60FPS very easily. The Video quality and upscaling is outstanding.

Thank You NYPlayer and SIGNCARVER Purchased the Channels app on sale, works fine no DRM but AMZ still not supporting anyway. Grid guide also and if you set your favorites channel access is quick. DVR is an option though....

Channels DVR is a great product … it is $80 dollars a year as opposed to HDHomeRun DVR $35 … but it does allow away from home streaming but no DRM … there is no perfect solution out there. Channels has an abundant of other features... Including auto deletion of shows.
