Yeah I am going to. I just read a review of someone having the same issue with the DirectTV Now app. It freezes and crashes on the Stick 4K. There's no way all of these apps are broken.chaotic646 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 16, 2018 7:46 pmLeave a bad review for your Firestick 4k. When I did that Amazon called me the next day asking lots of questions about the issue I was having. The lady I spoke with said they were working on a fix but this was over a week ago and it's still crashing after the last update. Maybe if enough people leave bad reviews on their precious Firesticks they'll take it more seriously.karambit27 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 16, 2018 7:41 pmYeah I tired to explain it is only the Stick 4K and the just kept telling me their internal team determined it was an app issue and to talk to SD. This issue is very annoying and I don't seem to be getting anywhere with it.chaotic646 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 16, 2018 7:27 pmI too have issues streaming my local live TV channels to the Firestick 4k. No matter which channel I choose, within an hour or so the screen goes back to the channel menu and I get a communication error. If I try to choose the same or another channel the screen goes black and the only way to connect again is to reboot the Firestick.
Someone said Amazon is blaming the app, I don't believe this is the case because I've never had an issue with my original Firestick, it still plays live TV from my HDHomerun flawlessly.

Re: Fire Stick 4k
In the Channels app, we have noticed an issue with the hardware decoder on the 4K Stick where it will crash after decoding video for a while. It then refuses to work at all until you reboot the device. This is a bug in the video decoder and has nothing to do with Wi-Fi or any app.

Re: Fire Stick 4k
Unfortunately Amazon is saying otherwise or not acknowledging that as they told me it was app related and to speak with SD support. I pressed them several times and they just kept saying their internal teams determined it to be an app issue. I do agree it isn't app related and is an issue with the device itself. It doesn't appear as though the latest update fixed this issue. Hopefully SD can work with them to fix this.tmm1 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 16, 2018 8:35 pmIn the Channels app, we have noticed an issue with the hardware decoder on the 4K Stick where it will crash after decoding video for a while. Re: Fire Stick 4k
I was able to watch the Whole Philly/Ram game on (2.4 with just N) using HDHomeRun APP and it worked great still connected.... but there definitely is a problem with WIFI even though this worked for me... I am going to keep it running wireless until it crashes or not.

Re: Fire Stick 4k
I have never had this problem … I usually use wired. Never had a crash that required a reboot and I use Hardware Decoding on Channels.tmm1 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 16, 2018 8:35 pmIn the Channels app, we have noticed an issue with the hardware decoder on the 4K Stick where it will crash after decoding video for a while. Re: Fire Stick 4k
I got a response from Amazon about my review to contact them …. but I no longer have disconnect problems
. Isn't that always the case as soon as you ask for help it starts working. I was on wireless all last night with the HDHomerun app and all this morning and no problems.

Amazon actually called me about my review just now. I explained everything and they're going to send an email to setup a date and time to troubleshoot. I am at work so I couldn't do anything today.

Not yet. I asked them to call me back tomorrow night as I have been busy the past 2 nights to do anything with them.chaotic646 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 19, 2018 7:08 pmAny update on this?karambit27 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 2:02 pmAmazon actually called me about my review just now. I just got off the phone with Amazon and it went pretty well. I gave them all the various results from my testing and the woman I spoke said she had a ticket from another customer with the same issue and they are gathering logs and information and have an active case open with the developers to figure it out. They are admitting it is an issue now and hope to have it resolved soon. She should be giving me an update on Sunday.

I reached out to Amazon yesterday and they haven't gotten any response yet from the developers. Hopefully after the holidays I will hear something.

Re: Fire Stick 4k
I submitted a ticket to SD, here is the response I received:
We're not sure on the cause yet, but we have received reports form other uses that the Fire TV stick 4k does this. We're not sure if the fault is in our app, our in something specific to the Fire TV stick 4k. Our Android developer has been made aware of the issue, and we hope to find a solution in the near future. I wish I had better news for you, but hopefully we'll have this sorted out sooner than later.

Re: Fire Stick 4k
Tried my 4K stick again and I couldn't get it to stay on just about any channel. It's going back. The guest bedroom will be without live TV a little while longer until this is sorted out. I'm not waiting. SD has taken too long with DRM, too long getting the Prime 6 tuner to market. I'll take my refund while I can and see where to go from there. If it turns out to be an Amazon issue (which it seems like to me) then I may just look for a used Fire TV 2nd gen or wait until I upgrade my PC and switch to Plex or Emby.
Re: Fire Stick 4k
Bought three of these sticks and this is one of the main apps I use. All have the issue. I hope a solution is found. I would like to keep them.

Re: Fire Stick 4k
I only own one but I had to get the wired adapter and it works great but when not wired it totally fails after a few minutes or so.
