Hi,
My Prime and SERVIO both updated to firmware 20200907. I noticed the Channel Line-up in the HDHomeRun Prime lists far fewer channels than it did before (+300 => 155 detected channels). I am trying to figure out what has changed. It seems to be only showing the HD versions of the cable channels and not the SD versions, plus any channels that I do not have subscription for (e.g, HBO) are not in the Prime Channel List. I am fine with the latter (unsubscribed), but puzzled by the former (no SD channels).
Thanks!

Re: Detected Channels after 20200907 Firmware
If you want to see if it thinks you are not subscribed to the SD channels add ?show=all to the end of the URL for your channel lineup. Any channels you are not subscribed to will be crossed out.
Code: Select all
<ip address>/lineup.html?show=all
Re: Detected Channels after 20200907 Firmware
Thanks for that command line. It shows the unsubscribed HD channels I would expect to see (e.g., HBO), although it is showing some channels that are subscribed (ESPN) as being unsubscribed (ESPN-2 is shown subscribed as expected).
Regarding the SD channels, they to not show in the Channel Lineup event when invoking the "show-all" option.
I will try resetting the Prime and running another channel scan.

Re: Detected Channels after 20200907 Firmware
Resetting the HDHomeRun Prime and running the Channel Scan did recover ESPNH and two other HD channels that were incorrectly marked subscribed. All the SD channels remain missing.

Re: Detected Channels after 20200907 Firmware
There are many things that can cause such. Is it all the SD channels or the SD channels where there is an equivalent HD channel? First I believe in prior posts you mentioned Optimum. I do know that many areas of Optimum use SDV but traditionally only for Foreign channels and some Sports packages. I can't speak for optimum but the past year I have seen quite a few providers switch SD channels over to SDV . Another thing about optimum is that the often use a trick to make the HD channels show up with the SD numbers by providing a map that only provides one set of numbers to their STB... when they first did that, many had the issue you described and eventually they provided cablecards for use in customer provided equipment a different map. However it is possible that such channel map got pushed to your card. It is also possible that they decided to get rid of most if not all the SD channels to switch such bandwidth to other uses (typically internet)
Re: Detected Channels after 20200907 Firmware
Yes the provider is Optimum (Altice) and yes their STBs do some auto remapping so that all the SD channels with HD equivalents will automatically redirect to the HD version. Most of the HD channels are in the 700s (some in the upper 600s) channel IDs. That has been the case for many years,
Yes it seems following the firmware update all the SD-equivalents of the HD channels are gone (so not the end of the world that I have lost them on the Prime, but puzzled as to why). For instance my channel line-up no longer shows channel IDs 2-13 (the SD versions of the over-the-air DTV stations), instead only showing the HD equivalents at 702 - 713.
The apparent change in the available channel line-up occurred after the above firmware update. I am skeptical that Optimum changed anything (or it is a strange coincidence that they did at the same time I updated the Prime firmware).
SDV should have nothing to do with it as we never subscribed to any packages that where delivered via SDV and it seems unlikely they sudden moved 150 channels to SDV. (in which case I would expect there would be an up roar on the OOL forum on DSLReports)

Re: Detected Channels after 20200907 Firmware
I upgraded Firmware yesterday. Before, upgrade my Cable channels were working fine. Now, it's just pixelation....Firmware 20200907...OTA channels are nice and smooth
Re: Detected Channels after 20200907 Firmware
I also experienced some channel loss (Spectrum). Just unplug/replug the STB and rescan channels. I just assumed it has something to with the cable co.
Re: Detected Channels after 20200907 Firmware
It seems very unlikely that Spectrum and Optimum implemented simultaneous channel line-up changes, so I am going with the firmware as the cause.

Re: Detected Channels after 20200907 Firmware
Have you tried to force a new channel line-up scan? ("Detect Channels" from http://hdhomerun.local/lineup.html). This might eliminate bad DRM channel markings as a cause.

Re: Detected Channels after 20200907 Firmware
Many of my SD equivalent channels I noticed were removed from Optimum also including all the Stingray music channels. I was most concerned about the Stingray channels since I did use/like them and I called Optimum and the tech folks on the call could not figure it out. When they sent the tech guy to the house he said they removed the Stingray channels from Cablecard customers on purpose so they could use the signal strength for Gigabyte speed customers. I was not a happy camper since I liked the Stingray channels.
I suspect they removed many of the SD channels for the same reason, but I did not ask about those.

Re: Detected Channels after 20200907 Firmware
The "tech" is probably making stuff up but who knows with optimum.
I have fios and that is not the case because I also have a ceton 6 pcie and that gets all the listings over cable card and can tune the channels that are hidden on the hdhrp
Really wishing this hide feature was optional the ceton just shows all channels if you get them or not and When you tune to it you would get a subscription required error.

Re: Detected Channels after 20200907 Firmware
If you are on FIOS and some channels you subscribe to are not showing, it could indicate the CableCard is not fully activated. Can you post a few example channels that are not showing up. An incorrectly activated CableCard on FIOS will not let you access any channel that is copy-once (or DRM).
I'm on FIOS and I know with my past experience that activating CableCard is not that easy. It involves multiple phone calls. I do like the SD hiding those channels I don't subscribe. If you even used HDHR app, you will appreciate why they hide those channels. It is extremely difficuly to scroll through all 700+ channels to find the channel you want to watch.

Re: Detected Channels after 20200907 Firmware
Yeah just after I sent in a support ticket to sd I pretty much figured out it was fios because all encrypted channels are missing not just the the copy once ones.
I figured it out withe the config GUI and manually tuning the hidden channels
But yeah if I just saw the channel and then it said subscription required I would have thought fios right away the hide should definitely be optional for troubleshooting.
I guess I have a fun call coming up with fios any tips or keys works to say to make them do the right things?
