Android TV google internal player "exoplayer" extremely sensitive to hdhomerun stream Audio/Video getting out of sync?

Post by wazer »

Hi so after using Android TV and I found this wonderful app called TiviMate which is solely using google exoplayer as internal player from google without modifying the streams in anyway its the raw stream from http://X.X.X.X:5004

I have found issues with hdhomerun streams getting out of sync extremely easy, it does not matter if the buffer is low/med/high at some point it gets out of sync.

It can be in the beginning of the a new session.
It can be after 10 minutes or a few hours.

Connection internal is 1gbit with cat 6a cables.

My equipment is pure ubiquiti hardware and have been tested and stress tested to see if there would be any failures in my house, that also counts for all cables, they have been tested with rj45 tester to see if any flaws, quality or speed issues was found, which they do not have, so all great.

I'm using the old hdhomerun HDHR3-4DC dvb-c with 1gbit interface.

Streams are played on NVIDIA shield 2017 and 2019 pro running android TV, and the new google device with usb-c > rj45 1gbit, and also comes with android TV.

Same issue persist on each and one of them

Since Android TV is gaining more more into the market, is this something the dev's could look into, maybe contribute to exoplayer code to get optimization for hdhomerun streams, if any needed.
