HDHomeRun DVR UI no longer scheduling

Post by handyd »

Hi,

I just want to make sure I'm not the only one.

HDHomeRun DVR UI 0.8.6, which I have running on Windows 10, will no longer allow me to schedule programs. It's been going on for a while. When I hit save, I get a spinning wheel, it stops, but it never schedules anything to record. I'm running 20201030, which I believe is the latest.

You aren't the only one. It hasn't been working for me for a long time.

Sorry about that guys

So yeah - last version was 0.8.6b
Since that release SD have changed the behavior of a number of the APIs which requires some work in the DVRUI.
I had started a rewrite in June, and it's almost there for read access..
But then I fell foul of all the QNAP security issues which was my main dev server and had to wipe and rebuild as I couldn't regain full control without doing so.. (luckily I had a backup of the source)
Have since moved my dev environment to a NUC farm I built, but stalled on getting the QNAP builds working..
For the dvr installer I ended up having to go back to my qnap and setting up a simple dev there.. so now working.. but had stopped working on DVRUI by August.

Been struggling with carving out time to work on it.. Whole WFH and then switch to working on DVRUI from same seat/desk has been difficult..
Much prefer to either game and/or drink beer - anything that doesn't resemble work.

Anyway - will try and motivate myself this weekend (long weekend) to do some coding and at least get the new version baselined so people can at least view recordings again.
As ever - also happy to have contributors.. even more so once I rebaseline and the github is updated.

Thank you for the update. I appreciate the time and effort you put in.

It's not a big deal for me and I would much rather you enjoy your personal time.

I did get some time over this last weekend and got my work in progress version working and uploaded to github.
Is not released - still very much in progress.

Dashboard is only picking up the HDHR devices

Recordings is working across all detected DVR devices
Image
Diagnostics is still work in progress

Missing are Rules, Upcoming and Search.
Now I have a working development machine again I'll try and get each one done.

If you want to play with it - you need to select the 'Next' branch on the github https://github.com/demonrik/HDHR-DVRUI/tree/next
I'll continue working on that branch until I'm ready for release.

Great work. Very much appreciated and it makes the SD DVR solution more usable.

I don't have the programming chops to help, but you have my support in any other way possible.

Will be following your progress.

Thanks!
