HDHomerun DVR and Unraid NAS

Post by DRMsucks » Fri Jul 19, 2019 6:22 am

Hello,

I just wanted to note that the HDHomerun DVR software runs on Unraid via Docker, and you get it via the "Community Applications" plugin. It's not officially supported by Unraid/Lime Technology, and after looking at the HDHR Prime 6 product page today I realized it's not supported by SD either. However it DOES work, and the Docker is regularly updated on Git. SD should think about supporting it as their customer base is growing fairly large. Their support forum is even more active than SD's. Other than Freenas, it's the only other NAS distro that I know it works on. So if you're tired of or don't want to buy one of those under-powered NAS in a box solutions at Best Buy (and everywhere else), take a look at Unraid. I'm running a NAS with 42tb on a Xeon machine utilizing a 10gbe network connection with plenty of power and bandwidth to spare. Yes, there is a 30 day trial.

I'm not plugging the product. I'm just plugging HDHR DVR on it because I'd like to see it supported by SD.
