Plex on additional TV's

Postby Gail1202 » Tue Aug 07, 2018 12:02 pm

I have HDHomerun Prime setup, I have a Nvidia Shield and also a computer setup as a media server and all works well except this one issue I am having with Plex that is setup on 2 additional TV's in the house using Amazon Fire Sticks. On the Nvidia Shield with Plex, when I open Plex it shows the grid guide and when I have Plex setup on the 2 other TV's logged in as the same admin Plex account they will not display the grid guide at all so there is no way for me to select to only show HD channels. I also have the HDHomerun/cable card setup with all of the SD channels disabled but the Plex on these other 2 TV's still display all of the 450 channels. Any idea why the Plex on the 2 fire sticks will not show the grid guide or a way to fix it to show just like everything is setup to show on the Nvidia Shield?

Is the Grid Guide even supported on FireTV's … I do not believe it is …. but you can post in Plex Forums.

Grid Guide isn't even supported on the Plex player on the Shield yet ... only in the Web client.

Grid guide is supported on the Shield and other Certified Android TV devices. Go into liveTV hit the channels button and it brings up the guide.

I stand corrected! They snuck that one in - don't remember seeing any announcement of that at all.

Congratulations, you just scored the Understatement of the Century Award.

lol

I'm a Heavy-Plexer, but Plex has a long way to go to make the MCEBuddy Wheel any rounder. MCEBuddy has been automatically delivering content to my Plexiverse for years. The pain and suffering index for Plex DVR is basically off the chart and that is pain and suffering I just don't need.

SD shows up with Premium TV, a (kinda) painless way to schedule/watch recordings on everything I own and if MCEBuddy can be made happy with it's new content delivery system - I'm good to go.
