Channels for Android TV supports closed captions

Postby bdbauer » Thu Jul 19, 2018 6:30 pm

A new version of the "Channels" app (not Google's Live Channels) was released today that supports closed captions - with all the size/color/background options in the Android TV accessibility menu. The app is pricey ($25), but it is the only decent closed captions implementation for Android TV right now.

The closed captions feature was in beta, but has now been released officially as part of Channels v2.0.3

I just got Channels (v2.0.12) but captioning isn't working. I don't see a setting to enable it in the app itself. Captions are turned on at Android system level and working fine in HDHomeRun and Live Channels apps. Any ideas why it's not showing up in Channels?

Nevermind I figured it out. Just needed to hit the down arrow while on a station to go to Language settings and turn it on!
