MrMC

Postby cat6man » Thu Mar 14, 2019 8:36 am

I'm running MrMC on my Shield and have the hdhr-pvr plugin installed.
I also have the HDHR app on the Shield.
My HDHR DVR is installed as a qpkg on a QNAP NAS.

From the HDHR app on the Shield, I can see the guide, watch live tv and set recordings.

From the MrMC app, I can see the guide, watch live tv but don't see how to set recordings.
Am I missing something?

You gonna need Emby server or something similar for recording don't believe HdHomeRun DVR will work with third party media players other than live playback they need their own DVR features.

I believe MrMC includes the unofficial addon that does live TV only, with no DVR functions. Due to MrMC not allowing other add-ons to be installed, your only option would be to not use MrMC and instead switch to Kodi. You can then use the official add-on that is similar to the HDHomeRun app or djp952's unofficial add-on that links it to Kodi's PVR system and includes DVR functionality.

It's requested to add in djp952's unofficial add-on in 3.8.1. Hopefully we'll see it then. They don't allow user installed add-ons but they'll add in some (non-piracy related).
