Every few months I try Plex DVR hoping they fixed it but the lag in doing everything makes it unbearable. It doesn't feel like a slick fast set top box the way HDHR DVR does.

I did the same thing finally chose EMBY and HDHomeRun DVR since they both run on my WD NAS. Emby remote DVR and Remote TV cannot be beat by PLEX. EMBY just added support for WD Nas so that make my move easy enough.

I'm running Plex (server and player) on Nvidia Shield with Plex DVR and it's super-snappy. Now that the last HDHR bugs have been whacked, it's a great solution.

Did they fix the bug of sharing tuners with other APPS... if they haven't no use running it in my household.... it is ok if you are only running OTA and not sharing tuners … but if you have DRM channels that require using the HDHomeRun app it is no good as Plex does not share tuners. if I am watching a DRM channel plex does not know that tuner is in use and will crap out.

Nope. I think they're still labouring under the misapprehension that their platform is sooooo attractive that people will want to use nothing else.

Exactly the same delusion that every other media platform suffers from ... Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV, BBC iPlayer, Sky. They all think that it's fine having a closed system that's different from everyone else's.

HDHR is currently the only supported option for watching DRM right?
Plex and Emby don't support it.
WMC is not supported anymore fully.

The guide is a big improvement … now if only they would introduce network tuner sharing.

Doing a month trial of Plex. Is Plex just bad at live tv? I can't run two live streams well and tuners often get locked. Dvr is good, like having Alexa control. Thinking of Doing Channels app for live and Plex as a Dvr with all Fire devices.
