Trying to Gauge Interest in new Roku App like HDHR Fling

Postby mwittl » Mon Oct 16, 2017 11:27 am

Hello,

As a registered user of HDHR Fling and owner of 3 HDHomeRun Prime units, I have been upset the Fling program is no longer maintained and is starting to fail. Since all my TV's are Roku TV's and the Fling program is experiencing problems, I went about learning Brightscript to write a Roku application and wrote a Windows server application to do the transcoding. It works pretty much the same as HDHR Fling, but it's not yet as polished. For my use....getting live tv channels to all my televisions....it's great. At any rate, I wanted to gauge the communities' interest in this new program (currently called HDHR TV) for getting live tv from their HDHomeRun Prime units to their Roku devices or TV's? If there's enough interest, I may polish it up with some bells and whistles and put it out there! Leave a comment if this is something of interest to you. Thanks!

- Mark

Cool. What are you using to do transcoding on Windows?

Do you happen to subscribe to SchedulesDirect? I incorporated their schedule information into the latest EPG and it works pretty good! I have a bit more to do but will be happy to let you know how to get this software soon.

I am very interested, I have 5 Rokus, and would love to eliminate a few of my Fios boxes and the ridiculous monthly fees Verizon charges. On top of it, Verizon took away the external DVR Hard drive capacity that they used to support. So 500GB is it unless you rent a second DVR unit. This product coupled with my Roku network would solve all my problems.

Thanks
