No option record of LIve TV from HD app (inside Roku)??

I can browse all my channels and watch live TV on my brand new HDHomerun Scribe Duo, but when using the HD app (thru my Roku) why is there option to record the show??
If I am recording locally to my Scribe? Why do I have to use a PC or a phone to do it and not within the companys own app on TV?
Please explain the logic behind this?

The problem is Roku, as they explain it. That ecosystem is not as open as others that they develop on.
