Symbol quality dropping on Connect 4k

Post by clarkss12 »

I have the same TV show running on two different devices. One device is using the Connect Quatro, and the symbol quality is steady at 100%, picture is perfect..... Second device is using turner 2 (4k tuner?) from the Connect 4k, and the picture keeps hiccupping...

Can we have you turn on sending diagnostic data on the HDHomeRun, and then do a channel scan?

Is there a signal amp on the antenna?

Yes. It was extremely windy yesterday...

The boosted signal is probably overloading the CONNECT 4K. Can we have you see if you get the same behavior with the amp bypassed, or with a passive antenna?

That will be an impossibility, the signal booster is mounted to the mast of the antenna, which is roof mounted.......

Then you could try something like an in-line attenuator to help tamp down the signal (if you have a coaxial splitter, you can use that as a test), but as it is now, the signal is overloading the 4K.

Thank you, that information helps me. I took a couple of my boxes offline, because I didn't want to lower the signal too much. Now I will add them back in with a four port switch.
