Main Computer Hosed - Quick emergency question!

Post by DaveSkynet »

My computer that I normally run HDHR on is temporarily hosed and will take some time for me to fix.

I know I can install HDHR on my other computer, but the main question is: Can I use a regular EXTERNAL drive to record all the shows on to? (NOT a NAS) I could leave that drive on 24/7 if need be. I leave my normal recording computer on 24/7. Both of these computers are regular full size, Windows 10/64 P.C.s.

If so, what/where is the best modern link to download the software to my, "new" computer?
Thank you! :)

Many have no problem with an external drive connected by usb but some occasionally have issues. To get the DVR on a windows machine install the full software package (not just app) and run setup.

Release software can always be found at https://www.silicondust.com/support/downloads/ and choose appropriately (but make sure software not app)

There is also a beta release available from https://info.hdhomerun.com/info/downloads#beta_software

Thank you very much! Will do.
Not looking good for the other one, but I think I can solve it. :(
