All tuners in use?

Post by m.a.c. »

Player says none yet status shows one available. I already know that a reboot will free up all tuners, but I'm curious why this is happening.

Looks like they all were in use by either 192.168.0.5 or 192.168.0.6 when 192.168.0.3 gets the all tuners in use error

ONE EXAMPLE (at this time tuners 0 & 1 were already in use);
19700101-00:00:13 Tuner: tuner2 tuning 688 MTVPHD (auto:357MHz-2) <- 192.168.0.6 requested this
19700101-00:00:13 HTTP: rejecting request from 192.168.0.3 - all tuners in use <- so 192.168.0.3 gets booted
19700101-00:00:13 Tuner: tuner2 streaming http to 192.168.0.6:61713 <- and 192.168.0.6 wins
19700101-00:00:14 CableCARD: tuner2 688 MTVPHD (auto:357MHz-2) access = subscribed

If you look through the whole log you'll see that each time 192.168.0.3 gets the all tuners in use error, it's because they are.

Do you know if there's a way through the web status page to free used tuners? I thought I had used it in the past but I no longer can find it.

In those logs, weird stuff is happening because you're trying to tune channels the instant the device is even available on the network. The CableCARD hasn't even fully initialized yet, so it's not decoding the channels and that's causing weird stuff to happen. Give it at least 30 seconds to a minute for the card to get itself right before you try to watch TV.
