I have 2 HD Homerun Primes. Both were working fine under Verizon. I have now switched to Cox. I read online that I needed a tuning adapter but when the tech came out he had 2 but said I didn't need them I should be able to just connect the Primes to my RJ45 and connect them to the Cox network via Ethernet.
So I did that, but of course I only see 5 or 6 channels when using the HD Homerun Prime app.
Do I need Tuning Adapters to work with Cox?
Reception, channel detection, network issues, CableCARD setup, etc.

The requirement for a Tuning Adapter/Tuning Resolver depends on your tier and market (those with only the basic basic (OTA) service tier typically do not need one). Other than that, you likely need a Tuning Adapter, and the tech was mis-informed.
But even without a Tuning Adapter, you often see more than half a dozen channels as long as you have a validated CableCARD. Does the HDHR show that the card is properly validated?
