Transfer recordings from servio to a NAS

Post by jburman » Tue Feb 11, 2020 1:04 pm

I have a pre-purchase question:

I am a little gunshy on buying an HDHomerun prime to replace my current **** box. I am looking at the Scribe/Servio combo but eventually want to buy a Synology NAS. Is it possible to eventually transfer recordings from the scribe/servio to a NAS and if so how involved is it?

Thanks,

Jason

You can use a web browser to download each recording, saving on the NAS.

If you have a lot of recordings you might be able to write a quick script so you don't have to save each one.

Also will the Servio/Scribe combo work with the channels app or do I need to use the HDHomerun DVR setup?

Channels does not interact with the HDHomeRun DVR, only its own DVR.

Can you use HDHR to initiate recordings and use channels to watch TV channels for the polished guide?

You can watch live TV using Channels but scheduling or watching recordings would need to be done in the HDHomeRun app.
