Disappearing Channels

Post by jasondeanny » Thu Jan 16, 2020 6:05 pm

Spectrum Cable in New York City

Channels 326 (MSG2) and 327 (MSGPL2L) are overflow channels for local sports. The primary channels are 27/318 (MSG) and 48/319 (MSGP) When MSG or MSG Plus require additional channels (such as tonight), the channels are active with live programming. The rest of the time it's simply a loop with the logo and music.

Using the HDHR configuration Lineup page, I have set 326 and 327 as favorites. Occasionally, these channels disappear from the channel list (such as tonight). Doing a rescan will typically bring the channels back but that unfortunately takes a while and is very inconvenient.

Why would channels disappear - especially when they are set as a favorite?

Are you on the beta firmware?

Temporary channels can be tricky to diagnose issues as sometimes the channel tables change, subscription status changes, or there is no video in scan... my suggestion is to use software not dependent on scans though occasionally they still mess up the channel table for cablecard devices that are not the provider's boxes (often they get different maps to do things like hd on regular channel number)

20190715beta1

This was the latest firmware for the HDHR3-CC. I see there's one that was released this week. I'll update and see how that works.
