Selecting Best Channel in Extend

Post by tonyemerson531 » Sun Nov 17, 2019 11:41 am

I have an HD Homerun Extend (ID 10556BC2 with diagnostics on) connected to a medium range antenna in San Jose CA. KTVU FOX HD comes in on RF channel 44-3 with 84% signal strength and 43% signal quality. The same feed is available (per the HDHomeRun Config GUI utility) on 26-1 with 100% signal strength, 98% quality and 100% symbol quality but the tuners selects 44-3 where I get sporadic dropout and pixelation.

How do I control an Extend ( or an older HDHomeRun DUAL 1018D719 for that matter) to always select the better signal at 26-1 and ignore 44-3?

When you run the channel scan the HDHomeRun will keep the one with the higher signal quality. If you're using an app that runs its own channel scan, like WMC, NextPVR, or SageTV, you will need to disable the bad source for that channel within that app.

Engineering being done on Sutro Tower.
Many stations on Aux antenna.

Channel quality may vary depending on which Sutro Tower antenna being used by KTVU.
