Rack mount?

Postby wingnut144 » Tue Jan 08, 2019 8:40 am

I know its a bit of a odd question, but does anyone make a adapter that would make the HomeRun Quatro rack mountable??

SD does sell the commercial model in a rack mount variant (the TECH5-16US). For the consumer device, it is probably too new to see any demand for such an adapter yet. Perhaps a 1U shelf with velcro? If you want to be more fancy, a few spot welds on the shelf of some metal for alignment could make it look a bit more professional. There are also a couple of vendors who will build a custom rack mount panel/case for you (someone will do almost anything for enough money), but the cost for qty 1-ish tends to be high. And if you don't have access to a machine shop yourself, you typically can find a local machine shop that might give you a quote.

Whenever I've had to rackmount smaller consumer electronics in the past, I just got an inexpensive rackmount "shelf" and either used velcro or zip-ties. Granted that was for some mobile community theater rackmount cases, so you might only need the shelf, if things aren't going to be moving around.

this might work, the front slider back and forth so depending on the height it might fit

The pictures confuse me a bit. I'm not sure exactly how that works?

Also, here's an example of a basic rack shelf: https://www.amazon.com/AC-Infinity-Cant ... 01C9KYUG8/

That bracket has no shelf, just brackets that attach to the outside edges of compatible Ubiquiti products that have threaded holes on the left and right side of their cases. If SiliconDust were to add threaded holes in the right places on their products, a product like this could certainly work, but not as the SD products are currently designed.
