I snatched up a cheap ceton pcie4 tuner from eBay and I'm trying to picture the best way to go about setting things up. My cable company requires a SDV but I'm not sure if I can use one SDV for both tuners or I need one for each. Does anyone have any advice before I do e into all this?

This isn't the place to ask about ceton hardware (suggest thegreenbutton.tv ) but to answer your question, both need their own tuning adapter if you wish both to be able to view sdv channels.
(to the OP) And other than the pain to deal with Tuning Adapters (sometimes called a Tuning Resolver), the TA is "free" with your CableCARD (sometimes you have to ask explicitly to receive it), although sometimes "free" comes with a frustration cost greater than zero (other than the half hour waiting on hold, and the fifteen minutes waiting for the client's T-device to restart and check its channels, my most recent activation was fairly straightforward, but that was about an hour of my life I wish I could get back).both need their own tuning adapter
