TV guide not pulling in all channels

Postby Johnowoss » Sat Dec 15, 2018 11:10 am

I recently switched from OTA to cable hookup and my device won't fully pull in all channels on guide. It is getting data for most but probably about 12 or so it won't get anything. I have tried rescanning a few times. I have wow cable in potterville Michigan.

Channel mapping for ClearQAM is hit or miss, and dependent upon the cable company to provide PSIP data which is usually unnecessary for cable broadcasts. (Cable companies put the channel mappings in the CableCARDs or tuning adapters, so don't often concern themselves with modifying the feeds to self-identify themselves.)

If having guide data for the unmapped channels is necessary, it's best to use software other than SD's that lets you assign arbitrary guide data to different channels. Channels, Tvheadend, MythTV and others all allow this; SiliconDust's software does not.

I know nothing about those options, is there a guide I can follow?

You can check the websites for the other software options (this is not an exhaustive list, but merely a starting point): However, as mentioned in your thread in the Software topic, your best and easiest option is to acquire a Prime and CableCARD if you are using cable as your source. If you are set on using your Quatro, then I suggest browsing and searching for other software options and asking in their respective forums for guidance.

Mythrecmaze is a free option for guide data for shows.
