DVR license assignment

Postby inline_phil » Sat Dec 15, 2018 7:36 am

Installed an upgrade a few days ago on my Quatro and I now cannot get the DVR license to reassign properly [shows unassigned]. Need help.

It always states that. see viewtopic.php?f=119&t=70410&p=335194&hi ... ed#p335194

If you don't restart the DVR, it can take up to two hours to resync with the tuners.

If you recently added Premium TV, make sure the email is the same as the DVR or you may need to open a ticket to get things over onto one account. If you purchased a year ago, your subscription may have expired. What do the logs of the DVR state (times are in UTC)

Let me say this in another way since you do not understand my problem and I apparently did not explain it properly.

I purchased a DVR license that was working fine until earlier this week.

I have suddenly lost DVR capabilities [your home page claims I have not purchased a license].

This is wrong [account information shows the purchase is in fact current, expires 9-14-2019].

I have unplugged the Quatro for 30 seconds and then rebooted with no joy.

Log says:
20181215-17:41:47 Recorded: authorization error or not subscribed to dvr service
20181215-17:41:47 Recorded: recorded sync failed

My Quatro will not record.

How do I get my DRV working again?

Click the link in the email you got when you purchased the DVR to associate your tuners and recycle the DVR (it can take up to 2 hours to synch with the tuners, that is why the DVR must be restarted- not necessarily the tuners as that may delay it again). Check the tuner's logs that they can reach SD i.e. no web client errors and that if you go to the discover.json page of the tuner it has a DeviceAuth (posting DeviceID is ok, never post DeviceAuth)

The way authorization works is based on tuner being associated to the account (make sure all tuners can be seen at my.hdhomerun.com when you "register" them... )... and that the DVR detects the tuners... you posted nothing from the log about the engine detecting the tuners.

If you wish SD to look at things, you will have to post your DeviceID

Found one more issue that may be the cause of the problem.
While looking at the original registration email, it was for an email address that I no longer use [xxxx@att.net]
I have since moved to a new email address [xxxx@okstatealumni.org] and updated my account info.

Could the issue be with the conflicting email addresses and the original activation code?

If so, how can we resolve this?

Changed the email address of my account back to the email address used to purchase the DVR software and that fixed the problem with recording.

However, while trying to figure out what was wrong, I added a second location on the same NAS for recording. Now I have two targets for one recorder and this ties up tuners unnecessarily.

How do I remove one of the NAS recording path targets?

I tried to cancel my DVR service on the day it renewed. It looks like all was fine but I still got charged. Before I put the amount in dispute, whats the next thing recommended to cancel this service. I just don't use it so don't need it.
