HDHomeRun Prime no longer listed?

Postby wctschumy » Fri Oct 12, 2018 11:58 am

Has SD discontinued the HDHomeRun Prime, or is this in advance of the new 6 tuner version coming out?

Thanks! Will.

Both. It appears they have stopped manufacture on the 3 tuner Prime and have no more stock. Also, the new 6 tuner Prime has not even entered production.

You can search online to find merchants that might still have the Prime in stock

are you sure that the Prime 6 has not even entered production at this point? this puts release/availability atleast to 2019....

That is what we were all told on October 5th... I do not expect that we will be told when it does actually enter into production until it is released.

Well, not necessarily, depending on the arrangements in place for ramp-up. A number of the manufacturing companies can spin up an additional run reasonably quickly if there are no (substantive) changes from a previous test run (so all tooling is already in place and has been approved) and none of the suppliers are constrained on availability, and you don't plan to use the slow boat from china for delivery. But in any case before the devices can be sold to the public it has to show up on the list.
