Is this something I should be able to do in the current container? Doesn't look like apt is a supported command unless I'm missing something obvious.using 'apt add wget' installs a usable version

Re: unofficial Docker Container for Record Engine
Beta update doesn't work yet with the container Hope to work on an update this weekend Not sure if this is important, but I noticed that the timestamp on hdhomerun_record looks to be the same as when the docker was started. If you are using the local timestamp to determine which file is newer, that...

Re: unofficial Docker Container for Record Engine
I just loaded the most recent Synology SPK (HDHomeRunDVR-1.0.2.spk) and noticed that it is using Record Engine Version: 20200701, and yes, I have the BetaEngine flag set to 1. ;) I am also running this docker on my unRAID server, again with the BetaEngine flag set to 1, and it is using Record Engine...

Re: unofficial Docker Container for Record Engine
The best method I've found so far is to do what Asustor does for their NASes.. Use off the shelf solution like Portainer Here are links to how to enable for QNAP and Synology Once installed you can invoke the user settings via portainer. I can't confirm Synology - but I got it working on QNAP by cr...

Re: unofficial Docker Container for Record Engine
You mind sharing your config for the unRaid docker? I have been looking for something like this. Thank you. Flamez This is the initial configuration that I used: Name: hdhrdvr-docker Repository: demonrik/hdhrdvr-docker Network Type: host Console shell command: Shell Privileged: Off These are the Pa...

Re: unofficial Docker Container for Record Engine
Well, I'm still learning too I believe you need to set them via environment vars if you can't use the user flag on docker run e.g. docker run -e PUID=xxx -e PGID=yyy .... Where xxx and yyy are the user UID and GID u want use Newer docker also has -u uid:gid Not sure if I have to handle or not in co...

Re: unofficial Docker Container for Record Engine
Main Con against container is you need to install all the container stuff, and as mentioned some Synologys aren't supporting containers on ARM processors. I have a Celeron based Synology so Docker is not and issue. With the containers you can set what the PUID is on start or leave run to default wh...

Re: unofficial Docker Container for Record Engine
Glad you like. Yeah I looked at others and came to conclusion that I needed to expose the conf, and having the container self update the record engine also makes sense. On latter I also wanted to avoid redistribution of the binaries from Silicondust.. so this made perfect sense. A few tweaks to mak...

Re: unofficial Docker Container for Record Engine
Installed this on my UNRAID server and it looks to be functioning as expected. I like the idea of automatically keeping the record engine current. The previous docker I was using required me to update the engine manually until the author of the docker container updated it. Sometimes that took a whil...

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
I didn't have this issue till I upgraded and didn't even notice it till you post. Is this all you had to do to get it fixed? I made the same change to the script he describes but recordings still not showing up but it did not break anything ether. The post I referenced was specifically for the HDHo...

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
I am no longer seeing recordings on the Recordings tab of the HDHomeRun DVR Manager. I am running Version:0.6.6, Record Engine Version: 20190516beta2. Also, the DVR engine is not showing up on the Discovered HDHomerun Devices list (I though it did in the past but I could be wrong). If I open the St...

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
Which model? I found an issue for certain models with 2 nics with 2 ips where the engine will run on one and if u go the the ui on the other is it fails to detect the engine is itself and thus won't list recordings. A fix is inbound, but am out of the country until next weekend. I am using a DS918+...

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
Are you mistakenly confusing the folders HDHomeRun and HDHomeRunDVR... the first is a "share" SD wishes to install to... the second is just a folder that the package makes... not a share at all. You only need to create a share if you want to share the DVR files to some other computers - i...

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
Basically it will create /volume1/HDHomeRunDVR this is different from the SD created share /volume1/HDHomeRun It checks if the path exists - otherwise it creates it. Then updates the RecordPath in the config file appropriately. (there is a missing feature to not do this if upgrading) then sets the ...
