Re: List of Hardware and Software that Supports Dolby AC-4

Try the latest Windows 10, XBox One, or Apple TV 4K app. We have confirmed an audio issue - fixed on Windows 10, XBox One, and Apple TV 4K. Android and FireTV release will be submitted tomorrow. Re: List of Hardware and Software that Supports Dolby AC-4

i have amazon fire cube which supports Dolby Atmos Audio (not just pass through like the stick). my receiver also supports atmos. so shouldn't this work for me with hdhr app on fire cube using hdhr4k hardware? Do you have your FireTV Cube connected directly to your receiver? And then the video out ...

Re: AC-4 Audio?

Nickk said they will move ATSC 3 to 100+ so plex should work without problem. That'd be nice -- assuming what he originally said no longer applies :) https://forum.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=133&t=74778 Tuning ATSC 1.0 vs 3.0 channels: We have an ongoing effort to support multiple channe...

Re: AC-4 Audio?

Thanks.. I know the FFMpeg update is important also.. I do need more tuners so considering the connect 4k... Err by app awareness.. that prolly means Plex... I'm a patient man, so will still probably get the hardware at some point.... I'm not talking about the AC4/ffmpeg update; I'm assuming that t...

Re: AC-4 Audio?

Works fine until one actually has ATSC 3.0. The upcoming (supposedly this week) firmware "should" fix it for it to be possible to use ATSC 1.0 if ATSC 3,0 is present. From what SD posted earlier about their approach, it will take both a firmware update (on the tuner) AND an application update (aka ...

Re: AC-4 Audio?

Unfortunately no, then Plex server doesn’t pass through unknown codecs (which is what AC4 is to Plex).

Re: AC-4 Audio?

I saw that if the device supports DD+ that it should support AC4 as well (no idea how true that is really). Everything I have read from Silicondust says if the device supports Atmos then it should support AC4, see this post for example: https://forum.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=133&t=7425...

Re: List of Hardware and Software that Supports Dolby AC-4

"Apple TV 4K (HDHomeRun App) (work in progress, AC-4 capable)(tested)", what exactly does this mean? Does the Apple TV 4K support AC-4 as it exists now, or do we wait for a software/firmware upgrade from SiliconDust? I have an Apple TV 4K on the way. The AppleTV 4K works with the latest HDHomeRun s...

Re: AC-4 Audio?

We found and fixed a problem that was preventing AC4 audio from working on ARM based platforms that support AC4 audio. There will be Android, iOS, and AppleTV app releases in the next few days. Re: AC-4 Audio?

My experience using release 20201204 on AppleTV 4k: The audio is much improved but still nowhere near what it should be. Im in the Portland market. Audio seems to be off center (ABC, CBS channels; left audio dominates, NBC channel; the right audio dominates, All channels, the audio fidelity is not ...

The AppleTV app also improves MPEG2 picture quality on the AppleTV 4K.

Getting audio on all seven ATSC 3.0 channels in Portland on the Apple TV 4K (version 20201204 (App)/20201204 (UI)).

Re: AC-4 Audio?

Yes, either in this thread or in a related audio thread SiliconDust says there’s a update coming very soon. It will require both a firmware and an application update. I am assuming this means an update to the API so that third-party software can also do the right thing.
