Re: ATSC 3.0: Seattle / Tacoma - Jan 2021

Hopefully there will be a fix for AC4 support in Kodi once we get some true 4K broadcasts later in the year. You're going to be waiting a lot longer than a year for both of those things. Kodi won't get official AC4 support until it hits a stable version of ffmpeg and they upgrade the version they u...

Re: New Silicondust LTE Filter

So, this only helps UHF channels? VHF channel 9 has breakups for me from about 2-5 PM and I was hoping something like this would fix it, but it sounds unlikely. VHF problems are more likely ambient noise related, so things like poorly shielded electronics (i.e. cheap LED bulbs or offbrand chargers)...

Re: PoE

All HDHomeRun products need at least 1 Amp, the latest 5th gen models come with a 1.5A power supply, while the Prime (Cable Card) comes with a 2.5A power supply, all of which is more than what the latest iterations of Power over Ethernet can handle.

You can also use hdhomerun.local as the URL if you only have one tuner on your network, or hdhr-xxxxxxxx.local and replace the X's with your Device ID if you have multiple tuners on your network.

Re: What should we expect from ATSC 3 OTA in the near future?

So no one loses any existing programming, there's a mandatory 5 year ATSC 1.0 simulcast period before stations can voluntarily shutdown ATSC 1.0 and go to standalone ATSC 3.0 signals, which would leave enough bandwidth for 4K. Until then they have to operate "Lighthouses" where multiple stations in ...

Re: hdhr3-4dc(EU) expand & HDHR5-4DT(EU) DVB-C cannot work together, gives different radio numbers range v50xx

The v5000 channels are randomly assigned as it does a scan and sees unmapped channels, it's not just radio channels that can appear there, but anything in the clear that isn't mapped to a virtual channel like local channels for a neighboring city/region/state/province or engineering/information chan...

Re: Win10 HDHR app No Audio

Roku devices don't include a native AC-3 decoder and instead rely on your TV or AVR/Soundbar to do the decoding. The "channels" on Roku are just navigation skins that pass the media to Roku's internal player. The Roku's internal MPEG-2 decoder is also very sensitive to any signal imperfections and c...

Re: iOS and Android apps don't work

Yeah, for reference when your unit powers on, the time it has is Jan 1, 1970 at 00:00 UTC. Under normal circumstances the time would be corrected as soon as it gets an internet connection from your router during the boot up process.

Re: Dallas ATSC 3.0?

The Dallas area live bandscans on RabbitEars show a strong signal on RF 34, but since none of the Dallas bandscans use a 4K model it doesn't decode anything. If you have a Windows computer try using the hdhomerun_config_gui tool which is found in the Program Files\Siliconust\HDHomeRun folder after y...

WXSP-CD is a Class A signal, which is limited to 15 kW. 23 miles out likely puts you in fringe territory depending on the terrain and your antenna, so you can only decode the QAM 16 PLP but not the QAM 256 one: https://www.rabbitears.info/contour.php?appid=25076ff3784d7e5e01785b63031709f5&site=1&map...

Re: Will Flex/Scribe 4K work in this scenario?

Roku's v10 update fixed the aspect ratio issue and enabled AC-4 over MPEG-TS, but I'm not sure if it fixed the core issue of their MPEG2 decoder crashing out anytime there's a signal imperfection and error correction kicks in. (i.e. things that would cause momentary dropouts or pixelation like windy...

See this thread: https://forum.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=127&t=75103 For whatever reason Nelonen Media/Sanoma stopped providing schedule updates to Gracenote, so it's not just Silicondust/HDHomeRun that's affected, other platforms who use Gracenote's data like Plex and Schedules Direct a...

Can you be more specific about your configuration, like specific model numbers and years for the Apple hardware, and the manufacturer and model of your Windows 10 machine, along with its graphic card, and how it's connected to your monitor and sound/speakers? Re: VHF-Hi Channel @ 201MHz is completely trashed at exactly 8:14pm EST till approx 9am

It's not really so much about specific brands, since even name brands like Philips also have noisy LED bulbs, it's more of looking for key details like FCC compliance testing on the packaging, avoid installing them in areas in the vicinity of the antenna, and if possible, rerouting the RF cables so ...

Re: ATSC 3.0: Phoenix - Jan 2021

RF 35 is a Class A signal that's limited to 15 kW, and lower on the tower, so it's not as strong as the other Phoenix stations. (i.e. RFs 15 and 33 from the same tower are 450+ kW)

Can you post a link to a RabbitEars report for the location of your antenna?
