Re: Encryption

EddieP wrote: Sat Feb 24, 2024 1:22 pm There is already a tuner box that has DRM recording in beta hope HDHR DVR will have it soon.
Recording DRM protected content isn't the problem (unless the broadcast chooses to block recording or to force-expire recordings which is a different issue)

Firmware update and app update.

Re: HDHomeRun Flex 4K ATSC 3.0 Next GenTV Tuner

1) In the last bullet of the recent post I see that SiliconDust will "plan to offer" an ATSC solution that may "block the user from recording the channel" or "block the user from viewing the channel via their home network" among other concessions. Have I read this corr...

Re: Current state of Apple TV app

2. When scrolling through the guide, if I highlight a show that is currently airing live and select it, the options that come up are "Record this Airing" or "Record More". Can we have the option to just tune to the channel by default? If the program is currently airing live, the...

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified

So believe from a semi-recent post after meeting with the A3SA SD changed tack slightly to get a DRM approvable box into our hands by demonstrating the capability to the A3SA using a JAVA-enabled end point to view live DRM broadcasts to get a win in this space. Sorry if I butchered up the real plan...

Re: Sharpening?

That has to either be the TV or the FireTV Stick doing that (the HDHomeRun app invokes Fire TV hardware video decode).

Check the TV settings and set sharpness to 0, then check for any Fire TV settings.

Re: HDHR Prime freezing

The logs from your HDHomeRun look fine. When the video is pausing/dropping frames but the image itself isn't corrupt it almost always points to a player problem. Can you please enable "send diagnostic information" from within the Settings menu of the HDHomeRun app.

Re: HDHomeRun App on Roku vs Firestick

Once again I do not have Roku Express 4K+. I own three Roku Ultras and a Firestick 4K Max. Just by reading the following comments, SiliconDust should have never offered the HDHomeRun App on the Roku period. Clearly the app is NOT ready for primetime and each commentor basically states: "If you...

Re: HDHomeRun App on Roku vs Firestick

The top streaming devices sold in 2023 and 2024 are !Roku! You would believe that SiliconDust would quickly program their app to play nice with these streaming devices. In fact the top selling streaming device in 2024 is the Roku Express 4K+. The HDHomeRun App should be improved if not on the same ...

No ETA yet... we have to wait for A3SA to finish and release a spec that can be implemented.

Re: Video Not Fullscreen on many Channels with Roku app

That is a Roku bug, I think specific to one model of Roku. It has been reported to Roku on multiple occasions but it may be worth reporting it again.

You may need to buy a newer Roku device, or alternatively buy a ONN Android TV box (<$20) from Walmart.
