Re: Use HDHomeRun when there's no Internet??
VLC should also list the HDHomeRun as a UPnP network source. Sometimes it tries to autoplay the first channel, so you press stop and then you can select the channel you want from the list.

Re: No HDhomerun app for my LG QNED in Webos store
Honestly, don't worry about the TV-level OS. They all get outdated way before the TV's screen needs to be replaced, so just get the TV you think looks great and for a price you are happy with, and then use a streaming box via HDMI for your preferred platform (Apple TV, Google TV, Fire TV, etc). I ha...

Re: HTTP API Documentation
What if lineup.xml and lineup.json showed which channels were ATSC 3.0 (it's technically possible for ATSC 1.0 to be in the 100+ range, but I can't imagine anyone would actually choose a virtual number that high)? From that information you could figure out what channels to exclude for the ATSC 1.0 t...

Re: Encryption
The A3SA is basically saying "We promise not to drop you into this tank full of piranhas" while demanding that you be dangled above the tank full of piranhas. Seems weird that they would even build the tank full of piranhas if they never intend to use it.

It's being tested internally right now, actually. We'll probably have a tvOS TestFlight (beta) ready soon.

Re: HDHR3-4DC EU Coax Keeps failing with no video data
Sorry, checking the ticket now Thanks please let me know :) I'll reply to the ticket as well, but currently I'm stumped. Seems like intermittent interference of some kind. Those channels will be fine one moment, then the signal quality tanks the next moment. Signal strength remains unchanged during...

Re: Encryption
I wish SiliconDust could build an Android player module that could be DRM certified by A3SA to provide the secure path from tuner to HDMI output. It would only be the player and all the controls to the player would be handled by an Android app which would not be required to be certified by A3SA. So...

Re: Encryption
How is A3SA able to prevent the recording of any of the OTA (free public airwaves) programming if the courts have already ruled that consumers can record content for personal use? Isn't this the same reason we have DVR's today? https://legalbeagle.com/6696968-tv-recording-copyright-laws.html The ev...

Re: Encryption
In multiple places you say: A3SA requirements that cannot be met by an installable app Won't the eventual Android solution be an installable app? Google Widevine DRM is basically baked-in to Google's Android OS already. As things are today, an installable app needs those parts to already be there o...

Re: Current state of Apple TV app
What about DRM on the Apple TV app works on the iPhone shouldn’t it be the same on the tvos? Apple TV is a little different because it uses an external display, and we are required to check for secure playback (HDCP). We don't have to do a HDCP check when the app reports that it is using the intern...
