Re: Radio in Pahrump NV
Maybe, maybe not. Sometimes when they add new stuff to the broadcast, they put references to where the audio/video will be but don't actually start sending the actual streams immediately. It will just sit there not working for a while, the one day someone has time to finish up the rest of it and it ...

Re: new Flex4k -- low signal strengths
seq (symbol quality) is a log scale of the number of uncorrected errors over the last second. It's not always a useful metric since digital TV has a really narrow band between "signal" and "no signal" so it tends to almost always end up at 100 or 0. Signal quality is the modulati...

Re: Chicago Finally, sadly DRM
WBBM is the host broadcaster, so it's not technically low power, just VHF, though running at less power than most VHF broadcasts these days. They do have a permit to bump up to 30kW, but I'm going to assume that can't be done until the rest of the work on Willis Tower is done. Given how that project...

Re: new Flex4k -- low signal strengths
(0) Replace antenna with bigger antenna The rest of that is just fiddling around the edges. Just from those compass headings you're in Sammamish or thereabouts, and a large portion of that area doesn't have line of sight to the main tower locations on Queen Anne Hill and Capitol Hill because of the ...

Re: No HDhomerun app for my LG QNED in Webos store
The app isn't available on 2023 LG TVs. LG refuses to approve it because captions don't work, but the app has no involvement whatsoever in captions, they are handled entirely by LG's video player. We have reported the issue with the video player to LG, and they haven't fixed it, so we're just kind o...

Re: Flex4k help
If you look in the Technical Data section for WPPX on RabbitEars, you'll see that they use a directional antenna that greatly limits power output in certain directions, with the minimum strength going to 70°, 130°, 250°, and 310°. 70° happens to be the exact heading for your location. So, you're get...

Re: Several new user questions: Guide data free trial, remote reboot, and ATSC 3.0 issue
You can run the DVR software (either on the FLEX or on a computer/NAS box) and use it for buffering live TV and can schedule recordings without a DVR subscription, you just can't actually record. The device can be restarted using the hdhomerun_config command line program that is part of the Windows ...

Re: Minimum SD Hardware Needed for DVR Software
For anyone else who happens across this thread, note that the CONNECT 4K/FLEX 4K models fully support ATSC 1.0 on all tuners, they just happen to also support ATSC 3.0 on 2 of them. Nothing is lost for 1.0 channels if you pick up a 3.0-capable model with an eye towards the future.

Re: Encryption
All HDHomeRun devices function as gateways, taking broadcast or cable TV and making it available to other devices over the network. Of course, only the models with ATSC 3.0 support (CONNECT 4K, FLEX 4K, SCRIBE 4K) matter to this particular discussion.

It looks like you changed your email address and that messed things up. Do you want it under .com or .net?
