Re: List of Supported devices
Hence, if you have an AVR connected, you can tell if you are receiving 2.0 or 5.1 audio to determine if your device supports AC-4 or not, assuming your local station broadcasts 5.1 all the time.

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified
No, not at all. The video at HDMI is fully decoded and decompressed display data which is not the same thing as the broadcast transport stream which for ATSC 3.0 is H.265 compressed. A typical ATSC 3.0 station in my area has a bit rate of around 4 to 5 Mbps. An 1080p display stream from HDMI is arou...

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified
It doesn't really matter much though (a single tuner STB). If you pay attention, no one has DVR certified for DRM yet. The earliest estimate published is sometime in Oct 2023. HDHomerun tuners have a lot in common with those DVR products. And has nothing in common with those single tuner STBs. Broad...

Re: List of Supported devices
From what I know, cloud transcoding only generates 2.0 audio, not 5.1

Nothing more seamless than using built-in DVR on the Flex 4K itself.hdhomerunjoe wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 3:50 pm is it to early to ask if there will there any advantage in purchasing a Servio to make DRM protected channels DVR more 'seamless' ?

Re: Speaker Configuration
Make sure your PC has internet connection or if you use 3rd party firewall. don't block the cloud transcoding of AC-4 built into the app. Most PCs can't handle AC-4 directly. Hence it needs to send AC-4 audio to SD's cloud transcoding server convert it back to 2-ch stereor audio for playback. If HDH...

Re: List of Supported devices
Thanks for confirming that.
I did another test this morning:

7:15AM T-Vision Hub v2 (from T-Mobile).
Hopefully this time the diagnostic info is sent successfully.

Re: List of Supported devices
Is there anyway I can tell if my device is handling AC-4 directly or being transcoded? If you really want to know, you can probably turn on flow instrumentation on better routers to see the traffic metrics. If your router does not have that capability, you could probably use a brute force approach ...

Is there anyway I can tell if my device is handling AC-4 directly or being transcoded? I have a Sony TV with ATSC 3.0 tuner. I also have a new Android TV device that is using similar hardware as Mecool device listed above, Rocktek G2.

Re: HDHomeRun app for Samsung TVs (sideload)
The video was removed by Google which makes it harder to find out how to sideload the app. There are so many fake sites popup in the search list (most of them reference ADB or APK which are not Tizen related).
