Re: PoE

100Mbps uses only 4 out of 8 wires. Power injector on one end, power splitter on the other. What seems to be the problem? It is true that some pre-standard solutions used those extra wires. It was a fiasco (because some used 12v, some used 24v, some used 48v, etc. and devices could (and were) brick...

Re: All channels have disappeared except for 4 after a channel re-scan

I am not sure why automatic rescan destroys channels already present. TiVo never does that. Rescan should only add channels not delete them. It is too disruptive. There should be a separate action/option to wipe out the existing lineup and start from scratch: scan vs wipe and scan, preferably with u...

Using apps with HDHR devices from a different network using UDP proxy - sdust

In order to use apps with HDHR residing on a different network you need to make HDHR discoverable on your network. First you need to make sure you have access to the device via browser and can play stream/recording via VLC (this setup applies to both tuners/dvrs) The discovery is done via UDP broadc...

Re: Audio only streaming

Now we only need to match http functionality with the "command line tool" nobody uses. I am pulling in 10Mbps of data to extract 300kbps audio. ;) The command line tool model is too deficient to be used remotely. It also doesn't offer locking capabilities comparable to local locking when ...

Re: Zoom vs Stretch/Wide in HDHR apps

Can you please make a 30 second capture so we can review and talk to the station. Nick Nick, if you are so eager to pester stations to fix their aspect ratio, how about starting with your own backyard? E.g Newsnet on 24-7 broadcast is available on multiple frequencies. The one on RF 24 KAAP-LD7 has...

Re: Zoom vs Stretch/Wide in HDHR apps

TiVo has 3 zoom options - Panel, Zoom and Full. The only problem is they are global so when changing between channels requiring different zoom setting an adjustment is required. The proper solution is to remember the zoom setting per channel in the player. I was trying to convince TiVo to do that fo...

Re: Audio only streaming

Apologies. I just realized how confusing my question was. I would like to get an audio only stream from a regular video+audio channel. I normally use ffmpeg to accomplish that by discarding the video part . HDHomerun devices are not cooperative in this effort since there is a lot of garbage in the s...
