Re: Chicago Finally, sadly DRM
I have a HDHomerun Quattro HDHR5-4US. I live in the Chicago area and was getting WBBM-TV CBS 2.1 until they switched to NextGen. From what I'm reading here, if I understand correctly, is that because my HDHomerun doesn't support ATSC 3 I will no longer be able to tune in channel 2. Please advice if...

Re: Encryption
To me surprise, someone from the engineering department at my local ATSC 3.0 encrypted station responded. They basically said it's the industry standard, contact your device manufacturer for not fully supporting the standard. The station is jumping the gun. As of Feb 2024 there is still no implemen...

Re: HDHomeRun FLEX 4K and Negative SNRs
Initial thoughts... The SNR value has a lower reporting bound of 0dB. This is not related to maintaining or reporting lock, just the reported signal quality value. The SNR value will report 0dB if there is no lock. Looking at the code - L1Detail must be received for lock to be reported. It also need...

Re: Overridding Current Tuner with HTTP
The tune (virtual or physical channel) is provided in the HTTP request. To change channel you close the HTTP connection and start a new HTTP connection specifying the new channel.

Re: Confusion (and my research notes) on all these utilities, versions, and download pages
The only thing you need is the HDHomeRun app. Install the app, launch it, and TV should start playing. The "HDHomeRun Software for Windows" gets you other optional things for Windows 7 and newer: It will install the HDHomeRun App for Windows 10/11 if you are running Windows 10/11 and side-...

Re: HTTP API Documentation
But, if you are using a single application for your TV/DVR needs, and don't have any non–ClearQAM cable feeds, the UDP–based library is still an excellent option. (Also, if you have an older HDHR tuner that does not support the HTTP API—all 3rd generation and older devices except the Prime—then tha...

Re: HTTP API Documentation
Tuners are dynamically allocated. Keep in mind that you don't know what tuners are available when you go to tune because another app on another device may be using one or more tuners. lineup.json provides the list of channels the device supports including the URL for each channel. You pull lineup.js...

Normal operation is send a request where the URL includes the channel number. The HDHomeRun chooses the tuner.
