Re: SiliconDust

If one is used to the old site, I see that might give such impression as the consumer is just hdhomerun and then one has commercial, support, and buy. There us no choice to take one to another region to see what is there until in shop (buy).so I'm not sure what shows up in other regions pages but in...

Re: The first HDHomeruns ATSC 3.0

The kickstarter one is not a flex as it lacks a usb port to attach a hard drive so for dvr you would need another device to record to (flex, scribe, servio, pc, nas.. ) The other main difference is power supply as a flex may need a bit more to power that attached drive but a spinner should have its ...

Re: 2nd HDHomeRun Prime

You should ALWAYS get the card properly paired but with most areas of comcast using moto/arris cards, typically you will get all but the premium copy once channels without it being properly/fully paired in such markets but such can eventually cause other issues. In cisco/sa/technicolor markets I wou...

Re: Encryption

I won't directly say since its removal somewhat states we probably shouldn't be taliking about such but nickk had made a post that for me is on the start of page 2 and a few posts later someone had quoted that section.

Re: Samsung UN65KS8000 audio

I believe the k series should work with ac3 via hdmi... earlier models I wouldn't count on it but I know the m series does but i cant guarantee it in the k as that was released right around the time it changed. This typically only comes into play with most roku's (a modern ultra is often the excepti...

Re: Recording on NAS or USB drive

It can be a permissions issue but what does the status say? (should be pointing to the new location) and also look at what rikd mentioned which is something I missed that you said you did... the config file to be modified has to be the original one... not put someplace else. I would start out by mov...

Re: Recording on NAS or USB drive

did you restart the engine? Also since you have a static port, what does going to that yield ( http://<ip-of-NAS>:50000 , replace <ip-of-NAS> with the ip address of the NAS such as 192.168.0.2 ) Also note restarting the NAS might restart the engine but the USB drive might not be available when it co...

Re: Encryption

There is always the possibility of additional fees for additional features/channels. That wouldn't be anything new or said prior to such happening.

Re: Encryption

And that would be behind an NDA (want some "proof" of the power of the NDA, look at what was removed from the first post of this thread about a week ago). But yes the broadcasters do call the shots as they are the voting members.

Re: Encryption

I have read that as part of released public specs and demonstrations as a capability, essenyially being a delivered app to ensure "subscription". it is not expected that traditional broadcast ota tv will go that route (yet). Whether or not SD chooses to provide such app behavior within the...

Re: HDHomeRun RECORD time source on Windows DVR?

Every hour or so (might take 2) the record engine checks in with SD to find out what to record in the next 4 hours with also getting the time from SD's servers. Guide data is always UTC and the Record engine checks how off system time is. I'm not sure which method it reads system time but it shouldn...

Re: Recording on NAS or USB drive

To attach to the flex it must be formatted as XFS and the folder must be HDHomeRun (I believe that capitalization but I'll double check when I get home, its been awhile since I paid attention to such as I just double click it when needed as I access such via a share when I attach it to my NAS, but m...

Re: Existing WTV recorded shows

To be picked up by engine, the file must be an TS with a .mpg extension and have metadata in the first 64 ts packets... when you used vlc it knew nothing about metadata to put there. Also the engine should automatically pick such up but relies on notification from the os the directory changed, somet...

Re: ATSC 3 Okayed for network tuners...

Your link won't work as it includes a banned word of the forum. I think you are misinterpreting the word "new" used 8 times in those couple of paragraphs. Nothing (yet) requires a "new" device when it comes to HDHomeRun its the same thing that has been talked about in the encrypt...
