Re: NEW - support running multiple record engines as a pool
Folder 'A' is configred to be a shared folder Not sure how you are sharing, but neither NFS nor SMB reliably work due to their lack of complete filesystem emulation. While one can sort of get things to work some of the time, the recommendation is not to share for it will fail in weird ways eventual...

Re: NEW - support running multiple record engines as a pool
To limit the number of concurrent recordings set RecordStreamsMax in the conf file (registry on Windows). Once this limit is reached another record engine will take over additional concurrent recordings. The default/max is 16. I have not tried this (but I was thinking of edge cases), but if you hav...

Re: Unofficial HDHomeRun DVR repository for DEB based systems
I created a text file named (unofficial-hdhomerun-dvr-repo.list) and placed it in "/etc/apt" I have not (re)verified the process, but I think you missed the part about putting the file in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ but in any case, all is well that ends, so if you have a working install, gr...

Re: Unofficial HDHomeRun DVR repository for DEB based systems
No, there is no error, the first post explicitly states you have to accept repos that are not signed. If you neither read that item, or if you don't know how to do that, or do not believe it applies to you, you may not be tall enough to ride this ride.

Re: Unofficial HDHomeRun DVR repository for DEB based systems
Is it possible to have a headless Linux box record DRM content from Cable as long as I only watch it through DRM capable devices like Windows? There is no current ability in the shipping HDHR DVR ecosystem for any platform to record content for later playback that requires a protected path. The sta...

Re: QNAP QPKG for DVR Record Engine
I notice that the qpkg filesize difference between 0.9.32 and 0.9.33 is almost double. Any particular reason for this? I have no special knowledge about the actual details (and I am much much too lazy to actually check), but I will note that the more recent recorder engines seems to now have string...

Re: Unofficial HDHomeRun DVR repository for DEB based systems
Please add to the install instructions to uncomment out the record dir line in the config :| I'll see how to improve the docs (and/or the sample conf file mentioning comments in general, and pointing out that the "REQUIRED* line also means removing the comment #). Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Unofficial HDHomeRun DVR repository for RPM based systems
Summary of changes on 2018/06/28 that are user visible: Support for (latest) openSUSE (Leap & Tumbleweed). The Leap repo *should* work for SLES 15.0, but since I do not have a license SLES is untested. The instructions have been updated on the first post to simplify future maintenance for reposi...

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
Thus I suspect that there is somewhere else that synology is setting up additional permissions outside the + which truly govern what the permissions are for the folder. I have not really followed the discussion, but the "+" indicates Linux ACLs. You can use getfacl to see them (and setfac...

Re: Unofficial HDHomeRun DVR repository for RPM based systems
You most likely want to follow the Linux manual setup instructions at https://forum.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=318401#p318401. Agreed. FWIW, since it is an RPM based packaging solution, if someone wants to contribute Mageia specific stanzas for the SPEC file (so that RPMs could be built)...

Re: Linux Setup (Advanced)
Pretty good example With the usual caveat that your mileage *will* vary (over the years I have created enough init, launchd, system management facility, systemd scripts/configurations to know that examples should be evaluated, and one should sort of expect to need to modify it for your unique envir...

Re: Unofficial HDHomeRun DVR repository for DEB based systems
I thought it would be at least worth a try. Even without the redirect statement (recording directly to the local drive) I have the same result. The recording engine appears to be running normal, but could indeed be a permissions issue to the record path. What syntax would allow write permission to ...

Re: Unofficial HDHomeRun DVR repository for DEB based systems
I have a similar setup running RPi3. I have an older NAS that doesn't support SSH, so I did "mount -t cifs -o username=<username of NAS>,password=<password of NAS>,rw '\\<IP of NAS>\HDHomeRun' /srv/HDHomeRun" to redirect the /srv/HDHomeRun folder of the RPi3 to my NAS with what think are ...
