Re: 6 tuner prime soon !!!

Same here less interested. The 6 tuner box is no longer a priority for me in fact it is at the bottom of the list. I am happy with my 2 Primes. I prefer 2 Primes over 1 6 tuner box... like redundancy. A second Prime would cost me $10 per month. That's a heavy tax for a little bit of redundancy. It ...

Re: 6 tuner prime soon !!!

Given that CableCARD is a dying technology I wouldn't expect to see SD expend the resources and money to support two different CableCARD models. But you never know, maybe they'll surprise us. I felt little need to upgrade in the first place but the Sony AVR was also a budget unit and had poor sound quality, ... Which is why I don't buy "budget" sound hardware. I am, or was, an audiophile. Had t...

Re: Apple TV app (tvOS)

For what it's worth (adding to the OT discussion of AVRs), I purchased a budget Onyo AVR - $400 marked down to $225 for the floor model which was missing the remote. I went to watch a movie from my Plex library and my receiver reported "Dolby Atmos". Dolby Atmos is not an advertised feature and is n...

Re: Apple TV app (tvOS)

Amazon netted 178 Billion last year with that approach. As retail dies, it’s the new norm. Every local retailer appreciates your conviction. I wish I was able to try the Silicon Dust tuner before I bought. Amazon definitely lets you try out apps before purchasing them. Your statement is not relevan...

but that 'buy first, then try" marketing approach is something that makes me not even want to bother with the product. Amazon netted 178 Billion last year with that approach.
