Re: Bad Pixelation

That pretty well confirms it to be a problem with the hardware doing the decoding. Local broadcast stations don't go through the same encoding path as cable channels do, so they aren't affected (except when the station happens to be using the same encoding setting that triggers the bug). Unfortunate...

Re: We've added DVR Playback to Roku

The version is correct in the binary; the issue is on your end. When you run hdhomerun_record_linux_20190815beta1 it extracts the correct binary to /tmp based on the CPU architecture for your system then executes it with any parameters that were passed. If the binary already exists and it can't be o...

Re: Bad Pixelation

Looks like the known problem with the NVIDIA video decoder. All the channels you're seeing problems with are 1080i, while the working ones are 720p, which is consistent with the problems we've seen in the past. Can you check CBS tomorrow afternoon and see how it looks? They've got racing and basketb...

As of 15 minutes ago, passthrough is still enabled on the Cube, and as of last night, it was still enabled on the gen 2 Fire TV box.

Re: SERVIO+PRIME recording corruption/stuttering?

The RAW numbers for Raw_Read_Error_Rate and Seek_Error_Rate are proprietary to the manufacturer and are not counters. There's some formula that translates that number into something meaningful, but only WD knows the formula for WD drives, and only Seagate knows the number for Seagate drives, and so ...

Re: unable to play channel

With new version on on my Android phone still getting "unable to play channel" on drm channels. Have diagnostics turned on as well. Please enable the sending of diagnostic data on the HDHomeRun itself and run a channel scan. On the phone, please check to make sure the Location permission is enabled...

Re: HDHomeRun OTA Live for Roku

Roku's video player is not tolerant of any kind of variance in the data in the broadcast from what it expects. Some cable providers have additional metadata in their channels, usually things like signalling from the channel operator telling the cable provider's equipment when to splice in local ads,...

We don't do the combining. That's done by the broadcaster.

Funny, because my Roku 3 plays live TV fine but recordings are so choppy they're unwatchable.

Re: DVR Quits playing recording early and marks as complete

I assume that's using a USB ethernet adapter? Do you have a fast enough wireless network that you can try with wifi instead of ethernet? USB adapters are fine when they work, but unfortunately a lot of them seem to not work very well and just randomly flake out, and when that happens all sorts of we...

Re: DVR Quits playing recording early and marks as complete

It looks like a network issue. The app is working, and at some point, it just stops being able to get data from the HDHomeRun. How are the Fire TV and the HDHomeRun connected network-wise?

Re: When will DRM recording be available???

It's been like 4 years since I personally had a WMC setup with H.264 cable channels, but my recollection is that WMC always worked fine with DRM H.264 as long as you were using a PC with a real GPU. Intel Graphics only ever worked for them in Windows 8.0, not 7 or 8.1, and of course 8.0 was EOL long...
