Re: Any fix for deinterlacing issues?

Do you see the same problem on the Shield in Google's Live Channels app using the Network Tuner source? And do you see stuttering on non-interlaced channels like Fox?

Re: HDHomeRun Duo - Reception Issues

The Amazon one says it cuts off frequencies below 80MHz, so that might be enough.

Re: State of the HDHomeRun Apps on various devices.

What are folk's experiences using Roku devices? I'm interested in both using TV audio and AV receivers. Poor. Not because there's anything particularly wrong with the app, but because the hardware is so restricted that the app can't work around the limitations it has the way the apps can on other p...

Re: HDHomeRun Duo - Reception Issues

Most people in the UK don't have issues, but when people do have an issue, like 90% of the time it's that issue. No one is entirely sure what causes it, just that adding the filter fixes it. It's pretty much unheard of anywhere else, even in other countries in Europe that use the same broadcast syst...

Re: New Batch of Primes - Tuning Adapter working for anyone?

Wait, you have an old PRIME and a working TA? Have you switched the TAs between the PRIMEs? Pretty definitive test right there. If the working TA continues to work with the new PRIME, then the PRIME is fine and Spectrum people are idiots. If the working TA doesn't work with the new PRIME, then there...

Re: New Silicondust LTE Filter

Does the new LTE band only apply to 5G, or can 3G/4G also use it? The filter attenuates any signal that happens to be operating on those frequencies. Longer explanation: LTE signals cause problems for TV reception because most TV antennas in North America are still designed for peak performance on ...

Re: HDHomeRun 4K HEVC Problem

Wait for Silicondust to release the firmware update that allows applications to choose either the ATSC or ATSC 3 broadcast. In Dallas, the regular ATSC broadcasts are fine, but the ATSC 3 broadcasts are kind of a disaster. When both are available, the 4K model will only tune the ATSC 3 broadcasts ri...

Re: HDCP issues

Microsoft has been rolling out an Xbox One update over the last week and a half, so that should be your first suspect. Microsoft and f***ing things up in updates, name a more iconic duo.

Re: New Silicondust LTE Filter

Needs pictures. And a graph of how it performs over the band would be welcome too, and bonus points for comparing against the one made by those guys in Chandler.

Re: ATSC 3.0: Dallas

There will probably be a one-off at some point just to see how it goes. The Superb Owl is hard to do in proper 4K because it has 18 million cameras and the control boards don't have enough bandwidth to move that much data around. That's why Fox's "4K" broadcast of the last one was really upscaled 10...

Re: Channel numbers and program IDs

I wouldn't worry about it unless it continues for more than a few days. It's not uncommon for one or more stations to run at reduced power or on a backup facility because someone is doing work at the site - installing a new antenna, replacing burned out feedline, painting the tower, replacing the ai...

Re: No Tuners Available - Getting More Common But not True

Device logs are in UTC, so subtract 5 hours for EST (i.e. 19:59:30 device time is 14:59:30 EST).

Tune failed is a hardware issue. Open a support ticket.

Re: Channel Line-up Errors

It's a known issue with the channel scan on NDS cards. If you ask the card to decrypt multiple channels at the exact same time, it gets confused and craps itself. Since the channel scan uses all 3 tuners simultaneously and tunes channels as fast as it can, there will be a couple times where it just ...

I thought I remember it showing UHD on the PRIME on the Fios 4K channels, but it's been a while.
