Re: Is the PRIME 6 soon to be released?

Thank you for the reply, Ned. However, it does beg the question of what additional hardware—or other—requirements are required for DRM recording and playback that the current HDHR software clients cannot meet; and why does a SiliconDust provided hardware recording device differ from a third-party de...

Re: Is the PRIME 6 soon to be released?

We'll have some more official announcement in the near future, but I've been told I can tell people if they ask me about it directly. … And we're still going to release DRM recording support. At first it will come out for the SCRIBE/SERVIO DVRs, because we were able to built those with special cons...

Re: Is the PRIME 6 soon to be released?

So after years of posts being deleted and marked as FUD, turns out the predictions of it never being made were right all along. Yep. And now we'll see if the veracity of DRM recording not being tied to the Prime 6 is true. I'll believe it when I see it. After all, what's 6 years between friends ...

Re: restricting tuners for the HD APP

It varies by router. Check your router's documentation for how it manages firewall rules. Or possibly your router manufacturer's web forums.

Re: restricting tuners for the HD APP

Not possible at this time. I would like to see this become a feature. All the suggestions about putting one HDHR on a separate network segment require a lot of setup and wiring changes. My current solution is to remove the HD app from my FireTV stick and Shield TV. Those will have to use MythTV, Ko...

Re: restricting tuners for the HD APP

One way you can do it is directly connect the tuner to the computer running MythTV or Tvheadend using a second ethernet port (such as a USB ethernet adapter). The HDHR tuner will assign itself an IP address, as will the second ethernet adapter. Then you can use the second ethernet adapter to speak t...

Re: HDHR Prime won't get an IP address from router

Another update: My device pulls an IP and I can view it in My.HDHomerun.com but none of the HDHomeRun apps can find it. Enable the mDNS reflector in the controller. The location of the setting may differ based upon the controller version, and if you're still using the old settings page, or the new ...

Re: Recording DRM

I still remember the post from a couple years ago—not sure if it's been culled yet—where an SD employee (I believe it was Nick) mentioned that a version of DRM recording was in testing and working well. That was over a year ago, and still the idea of a WMC replacement is a shadow. DRM was mentioned ...

Re: Is the PRIME 6 soon to be released?

Here is one simple question for Nick or Ned... Have there been discussions of scrapping the Prime 6 now that the CableCard mandate is over? A better question: has the Prime6 even been submitted to CableLabs for certification. Back in July it was disclosed that certification had yet to even begin. T...

Re: No Internet, No App????

The problem is their "New UI" that was supposed to unify their platforms. They switched from native apps on platforms to a React-based internet hosted app. So essentially, the HDHR app UI is nothing more than JS-based website hosted on their servers. No internet, no app. Also, their app doesn't supp...

Re: HDHomeRun Prime across a VPN

Thanks a lot! This topic is definitely the most helpful guide on the internet I came across to. Trying to access remotely for a long time with a VPN and couldn't manage finding a way to do this until now. I have a HDHomeRun Prime at my home in Portugal , will I be able to use it remotely with a VPN...

Re: HDHomeRun Prime across a VPN

Ned, shouldn't the duration be "-1" for a live stream, rather than "0"? So,

Code: Select all

#EXTINF:-1,…
instead of

Code: Select all

#EXTINF:0,…
would be preferable. (I know I always used "-1" for the duration field with Tvheadend, and never had issues.)

Re: Recording DRM

Figured I'd give this thread a bump, since the Prime 6 is undergoing additional hardware revisions, and has yet to be submitted to CableLabs for certification. Any updates about DRM recording? Reports have been conflicting in the past as to whether it was tied to the Prime 6 or not. Also, I seem to ...

The only SD tuner with GbE is the discontinued Prime ... and maybe its near cousin the DVB-C Expand.

Re: Documenation?

In general, the documentation isn't very good, and it is spread all around. They've said they're going to put everything together, and it hasn't quite happened yet in any comprehensive manner. Honestly, the best way to figure out the API is by examining the source of their Kodi plugin, as the Python...
